The chorus to the song, “Love Them Like Jesus” by Casting Crowns has been stuck in my head this past week. The chorus says:
So love them like Jesus
Love them like Jesus
You don’t need the answers
To all of life’s questions
Just know that He loves them
Stay by their side
We have to love everyone the same. Jesus didn’t have partially when it came to His love & concern for people. He didn’t love those in church more than He loved sinners or vice versa. He simply loved. Jesus served all people. He worked for uplifting those in church & reaching the lost just the same.
We are called to follow His example. It shouldn’t matter how close you are to one Brother or Sister in Christ, but what should matter is that you are both part of the same body & the love should show equally to all. We need to love more & care more for all people. Jesus’ love has no preferences.
1 John 4:20-21 says, “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” “And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”
