When I got home from work yesterday, I had an email waiting for me that I wasn’t expecting. The email let me know that I have a job interview working as a ministry assistant and to be honest, I was stunned they had gotten back to me so quickly. After the initial shock and the excitement wore off, I began to worry about the upcoming interview.
I specialize in worrying. I’m seriously kind of an expert at it. Am I the only one?
While I was worrying about my qualifications a still small voice spoke to me and said, “I am.” I just sat there for a minute and thought about what the Lord had just spoken to me and then, like a ton of bricks, it hit me. Jesus simply is. He is everything we need Him to be for us.
Philippians 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Jesus is able to do the impossible for us. He is the One who calms our worried minds and the One who instills in us a peace that is everlasting. When we serve Christ, we should have enough faith in Him to realize and believe that He is enough for us, our situations, our present, and our future.
We serve a God who is simply just that: God.
Last night, as I was talking to my sister this thought occurred to me, “I have God on my side and His anointing and that is more than enough for me. God is bigger than any Mac computer system that I may need to understand for an interview (if they even ask me to show my skills on one during it). He is able.”
We all worry about things pertaining to our own lives, but we know a Savior that wants us to cast our cares upon Him because He cares for us. We don’t have to fret over anything when we serve a Savior who holds all the solutions and peace in His hands. When our worries start to get out of control, we can remember the simple fact that Jesus simply is.
Jesus is more than enough.
Jesus is more than able.
Jesus simply is.
1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
If you are worried about something today, remember who Jesus is to you. Think about His power that knows no impossibles and can conquer all things. We serve a God who is more than able to meet all our needs and help calm our worried minds. With Christ dwelling within us, there is no room for worry, but only peace and joy to help get us through whatever our days may entail. Jesus simply is all that we will ever need in this lifetime and that is enough.
